I'm sat here thinking about the ideas that keep coming up through AFTER. Worth, time, belonging, acceptance, change. I haven't deliberately gone looking for any of them. They normally start with something that's happened, a conversation I've had, or just a thought that I've found myself sitting with for a while.
And I'm starting to notice there is a pattern in that.
I'm not trying to give people advice. I'm not trying to tell anyone how they should think or feel. Most of the time I'm trying to understand something for myself first.
I might find myself thinking about why I measure my own worth in a certain way. Why something that didn't last can still have mattered. Why the people close to me can simply say, "because you're you," when I'm still trying to work out what they see. Or why, as life moves on, the version of it I once imagined can look quite different from the one I'm actually living.
The more I sit with these things, the more I realise that a lot of AFTER. comes from simply noticing them.
I hadn't thought of that as mindfulness. I certainly didn't set out to make anything around mindfulness. But there is something in slowing down enough to notice what is going on in your own head, what keeps coming back, and what it might be trying to tell you.
Maybe that is becoming part of what AFTER. is.
Not answers. Not lessons.
Just observations about things many of us probably feel, but don't always stop long enough to put into words.
