CHAPTER I  —  WEAR WHAT COMES NEXT.

There is
always an
after.

AFTER. is about the life that exists when something important is no longer the way it was.

Loss does not arrive in one form. It can be a person, a job, a home, a relationship, a role, a routine, a certainty, a future you expected — or a version of yourself you thought you would always recognise.

What was lost does not need to be minimised for life to continue. It mattered. It may still matter. Moving forward is not the same as pretending otherwise.

The part AFTER. is interested in is what follows: rebuilding around what remains, adapting to what changed, learning new ways to live, recovering confidence, making another plan and becoming at home in a life you did not originally choose.

Recovery is rarely a return to exactly who you were before. Sometimes it is quieter than that: a new routine, a different strength, another first, a life slowly becoming yours again.

Wear what
comes next.

Not the old life restored. The next one being built.
